Jerry “Jake” Brown, 62, of Leroy passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at CAMC Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

He was born June 22, 1954 at Kentuck, a son of French and Edna Brown. He was a graduate of Ripley High School with the Class of 1973. He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways as a truck driver where he was known as the “Snow Man.” He was an avid outdoorsman who loved working with his hands and was the greatest grandpa ever.

He is survived by his wife Cindy Crow Brown; son Jerry Lyn Brown and wife Terra, Brandon Dunlap and Will Dunlap; daughter Amy L. Brown; grandchildren Jerry Lyn “Poncho” Brown, Owen W. Brown, Trelyn Reeve Brown, Reagan Dunlap, and Kyhlee Dunlap; twin great grandsons Jase Alexander Brown and Braxton Creed Brown; siblings Terry Brown, Angie “Nikki” Smith, Joyce White, Ruth Raines, Dorothy Morin, Judith Miller, Wanda “Susie” Townsend, and Janie Smith; he is also survived by best friend Glenn Webb.

He was preceded in death by brothers Otis Brown, Jimmy Brown, Robert Brown, and Roy Raines.

Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, September 29, at Waybright Funeral Home Ripley with Rev. Herman Robinson officiating. Friends may call on the family from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
