A longtime resident of Jackson County, Nathan “Buzzy” Hill passed away July 7, 2016 at his home in Ripley following a long illness.

Nathan was born February 6, 1944 in Barboursville, WV, son of the late Everett and Sally Ann Hill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Hill; and an infant son, Nathan Harold Hill Jr.; two sisters, Trudy Arthur and Helen Stoner.

Buzzy was owner and operator of Concrete Finishers, Inc. and a heavy equipment operator for more than 40 years. He was also a member of the United States Army.

Survivors include his children, Jonathan Hill and his wife Lily Beth and Crystal Hill all of Ripley; brothers Creed Hill of Ripley and Douglas Hill of Clearwater, FL; a sister Jennette Becker of Ocean City, MD and three half-sisters, Mauna Doppies, Donna Brant and Deborah Swaney all of Brunswick, OH. He also had many nieces and nephews who loved to visit “Uncle Buzzy” on his farm.

Buzzy was a lifelong hunter and fisherman. His presence on the banks of our local streams in pursuit of the mighty “Muskie’ will be sorely missed.

His request to be cremated will be honored by his family members who will hold a private memorial service at his home in Ripley.

A time of visitation with the family in memory of “Buzzy” will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016, from 5 to 8 pm at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.
