Mrs. Eula Catherine Anderson Morton, 89, of Mount Alto, WV, died July 8, 2016. 

She was born at home in Charleston, WV, on December 9, 1926, to Dennie and Macel Withrow Anderson. She grew up at the Mountain Mission in Charleston and was pianist/organist there until her marriage on July 2, 1954.

Eula was saved in 1937, and was blessed to have married the Rev. Clarence B. Morton.  They served various Baptist churches in West Virginia during a ministry that spanned 50 years.  Eula and Clarence celebrated 50 years of marriage just before his death in 2004.

She graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1944, and was employed through the years as secretary/administrative assistant.  She attended West Virginia State University and Appalachian Bible Institute.  She was a member of the Jackson County Senior Choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her parents, Dennie and Macel Anderson; two brothers, Gene R. Anderson and Hearl (Pete) Anderson; sisters-in-law, Dayle Morton Burrows and Jackie Anderson and brother-in-law, William ‘Bill’ Roy.

She is survived by three children,  Denise (Don) Blandford of Mount Alto, Paul Morton (Jane) of Waverly, WV, and Susan (Kevin) Harrison of Catlettsburg, KY;  seven grandchildren, Catie Casto and Markie Blandford, Maggie, Samuel, Simeon and Solomon Harrison, Michael Whisman (Brandi) and Becki (Brent) Jackson; six great grandchildren, Nathaniel Casto, Allora, Cameron and William Whisman, and Ella Jane and Loralei Jackson.

Also surviving Eula are one sister, Doris ‘Dickie’ Roy of Charleston, WV; sisters-in-law, Norma Songer of Charleston, WV, and Helen Anderson of Hilliard, Ohio, and brother-in-law, Rev. Carl Burrows of Mt. Hope.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Ripley, WV, with the Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Casto Funeral Home at Evans, WV, and one hour prior to time of service at the church on Wednesday. A private graveside service will be held.
