Kenneth M. Kersey, 67, of Washington, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Kenny was born June 27, 1948 in Red House, WV to Clarence Arlie and Betty Madaline {Shaffer} Kersey.

He served in the US Marine Corp as a Lance Corporal during Vietnam.

Kenny married Diana Lynn Starcher on May 6, 1994. 

He retired from AEP Coal Miners and UAW local 72 as an insulator. Kenny was a care taker in Lake Washington club. Kenny was a Christian who loved helping people, spending time with his grandchildren and his nephew Wyatt.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Diana of 21 years, father-in-law Duane Smith daughters Nicole and Alicia, two sons John Murray of Washington and Joshua (Alex) Murray of Belpre, grandchildren Brandon Parker, Brittnay Murray, Alyssa Grant, Kaylee Murray, Jaden Murray, Jocelyn Murray, 2 great-grandchildren, brothers John (Barb) Kersey, Randall (Terrie) Kersey, sisters Becky Middleton, Gerry (Keith) Leachman, numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by his mother Betty, father Clarence, mother-in-law Dolores Smith, brother Clarence Jr. Brothers-in-law Ronnie Kimes and Tommy Middleton, Nieces Samatha Buckland and Kasey McClananhan.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 12-1 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg.  Funeral services will be Wednesday. March 2, 2016 at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Morgan officiating.  Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.
