George Harvey Adams, 92, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on January 15, 2016, at his home.
He was born on July 28, 1923, in Logan County, WV, son of the late Harvey and Emma Mullins Adams.
George was a member of the Ravenswood Church of the Nazarene. He worked for over 30 years at Foot Mineral Plant in New Haven, WV, as a crane operator. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed gardening and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Charlotte Perry Adams; 2 daughters, Sandy Pittman, Ravenswood, WV, and Mary Grealis (Pete), Parkersburg, WV; 8 grandchildren, Lori, Cindy, Lisa, Deanna, Edward, Mitchell, Brandon, and Travis; 15 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Barbara Adams; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charlene; 3 sons, Glen, Clark and Mark; 8 sisters, Ethel, Dentis, Jennie, Jane, Eunice, Easter, Hazel, and Sally; 3 brothers, Eustace, Lewis and Naaman; and son-in-law, David Pittman.
Services will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016, at 3:00 pm at Ravenswood Church of the Nazarene with Pastor David Shirer officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard.
Friends may visit the family at the church on Sunday, January 17, 2016, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
