The following cases were handled recently in the Jackson County Circuit Court:

Judge Lora A. Dyer

• Janine Lawson was charged with gross child neglect creating a substantial risk of serious bodily injury or death. Her sentencing is set for 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 11.

• Joseph Fowler was charged with reckless fleeing in a vehicle and was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for one to five years and a $1,000 fine. He was also charged with driving while license revoked for a DUI, second offense. For this charge Fowler was sentenced to home confinement and a $1,000 fine. He will not receive credit for time served. Sentences will be served consecutively.

• Levi Coleman was charged with transporting a controlled substance (heroin) into the state with intent to deliver 10-100 grams or simple possession (heroin) and conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor. His sentencing is set for 11 a.m. on Dec. 14.

• Zakary Coleman was charged with transporting a controlled substance (heroin) into the state with intent to deliver 10-100 grams or simple possession (heroin) and conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor. His sentencing is set for 11 a.m. on Dec. 14.
