The Jackson County Public Library in Ripley will be hosting their annual Christmas Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.

This is a free community event where refreshments will be provided and guests will be able to create crafts, play trivia, and participate in a scavenger hunt as well.

Santa Claus will make an appearance from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and various Christmas readings will take place from 1-2 p.m.

Door prizes will be drawn every half hour.

“We as a library staff enjoy hosting this event each year to let the community know we are here, who we are, and what services we can provide for them,” circulation clerk Mallory Parsons said. “It is our chance to get to know the community and for them to get to know us.”

To coincide with the annual Christmas Open House, will be the third annual Art Exhibit. This special holiday treat is presented by the library’s Art Therapy Group. Their art will be on exhibit throughout the event and the community is invited to stop in to view the talents of their local friends and neighbors.
