When the Adopt-A-Family Screening Committee met on Thursday, there were approximately 51 new applications to review. Five families had been on ‘hold’ since last week’s meeting, with committee members checking further on these groups. Twelve families were put on “hold” for further checking by committee members during Thursday’s meeting.

The Screening Committee will meet on Wednesday (because of Thanksgiving) and review the new applications that come in this week

Applications are still being accepted and can be picked up at The Jackson Newspapers, 410 Race Street, during regular business hours Monday through Friday, or by calling Sally Carter at 304-273-9897.

The Adopt program has had requests for beds and a couch and chair. If anyone would have these items to donate to the program, please let Mrs. Carter know and they can be accepted once the headquarters open at Earl Wolfe Fire Department. Watch the paper for the announcement of the opening of Headquarters.
