The Jackson County Board of Education along with special guests, students, and faculty at Ravenswood Middle School recently celebrated their new state-of-the-art facility.

A ceremony was held inside the new gymnasium which included music performed by the Ravenswood Middle School chorus and members of Ravenswood High School’s Rave Revue all under the direction of Renee Knapp.

Jackson County Assistant Superintendent Dr. Keith Burdette introduced each dignitary in attendance by explaining to the students what role each person played in making the new building possible.

Special remarks were then made by Ben Ashley, Director of Architectural Services School Building Authority of West Virginia, on the design of the facility.

Guest speaker Dr. Steven Paine, West Virginia State Superintendent of Schools, shared his excitement with the students and expressed his gratitude in being able to join them during the dedication.

Closing remarks were made by Blaine Hess, Jackson County Superintendent of Schools, following Rave Revue’s award winning song, “My Home Among the Hills.”
