Harbor Blast Concert Series sponsored by Appomattox Boat Harbor raises money for local charities
PRINCE GEORGE — The Harbor Blast Concert Series presented Country Blast 2019 last Saturday night at the Appomattox Boat Harbor. Three bands took the stage overlooking the Appomattox River: Kenzie Kincaid, Main Street Station, and Chad Hulsey.
Line dancing lessons with Kickin' Country Line Dancing took place for six hours, according to the marina owner Crista Manieri.
Friends and family members also played corn hole while listening to country tunes.
The concert series has been held consecutively at the Appomattox Boat Harbor for the past 21 years.
Manieri stated, “It is a community-funded concert series featuring local bands, vendors, and crafters while raising money for local charities.
“Country Blast’s proceeds were earmarked for Off the Chain Animal Rescue who make a local impact in our community by trapping, spaying, neutering and releasing feral cats in our area,” Manieri said.
The next concert, Masters of Metal, featuring Metal Priest, Wrathchild, Poisonous Crue, and Dethstrike is scheduled for Saturday, August 31. Rain or shine, the gates open at 4 p.m.
