A Sissonville man has been charged with selling methamphetamine and heroin in Jackson County.
Jared M. Whittington, 30, 1606 Lakeland Terrace, Sissonville, was charged with delivery of heroin and delivery of methamphetamine.
This spring, Deputy Seth Fisher of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department began receiving information from a confidential informant about the distribution of heroin and methamphetamine in Jackson County, according to a criminal complaint filed in Jackson County Magistrate Court.
The investigation revealed Whittington and another individual were working together. During the week of May 27, Fisher utilized the same informant to coordinate and conduct a controlled purchase off of the two individuals, according to the complaint.
The informant provided Fisher with messages from Whittington in which Whittington allegedly agreed to sell heroin and methamphetamine to the informant.
The informant was given cash and a recording device. Fisher and Detective Capt. Robert Knox of the Jackson County Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Ravenswood Police Department were able to conduct surveillance of the informant as he traveled to the Fairplain area of Jackson County, according to the complaint.
During surveillance, Fisher saw Whittington in a silver SUV pull in to the same location as the informant, according to the complaint. After the purchase, the informant provided Fisher with the suspected methamphetamine and heroin, as well as the recording device, the complaint alleges.
