A Ravenswood woman was arrested recently after a traffic stop revealed the vehicle police said she was driving had been reported stolen.

Amanda Rene Dickerson, 35, of 1351 Claylick Road, Ravenswood, was charged with receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle.

While on patrol at approximately 2 a.m. on June 18, Deputy J.B. Thompson of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department spotted a silver Toyota Echo parked on Water Street in Ravenswood. According to a criminal complaint filed in Jackson County Magistrate Court, Thompson saw a woman he recognized as Dickerson exit the vehicle. According to the complaint, Thompson knew, based on previous encounters, that Dickerson did not have a valid license.

Thompson also said he noted and identified two males near the vehicle. Cpl. Parsons of the Ravenswood Police department arrived to assist at the scene.

In the complaint, Thompson reported Dickerson appeared to be nervous, and kept trying to distance herself from the vehicle.

Thompson had dispatch check the registration, and found the vehicle was reported stolen out of Parkersburg, according to the complaint. Officers learned Dickerson took the vehicle from her boyfriend, the complaint alleges.
