The Jackson County Special Olympics is having their annual fundraiser dinner and dance beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 at the Dawg Pound in Ravenswood.

There are over 100 Special Olympics athletes in Jackson County who compete in a variety of games from basketball to swimming, cheerleading and more.

This event goes a long way to helping support the athletes by allowing them to participate in local and state competitions. The funds raised assist with hotel accommodations, meals, and other travel expenses as well as their uniforms.

The Special Olympics also sponsors the Buddy Club which is an outreach program who’s motto is, “Seeing the possibilities and not the disabilities.”

Jackson County’s Special Olympics athletes are proud to support and represent their county during competitions and encourage everyone to come out and enjoy some good food, good fun, and lots of love and laughter.

Tickets for the dinner are $40 per person or $70 per couple. Special pricing also available for tables of eight, 10, or 12. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Frank Nester at 304-273-2022, 304-481-4099 or Ann Dowler at 304-488-4891 by Friday, May 3.
