The incident occurred in the early-morning hours of April 19 outside a Taco Bell; three victims were taken to the hospital with serious injuries

PETERSBURG — Police say they have the person in custody who they believe is responsible for a shooting outside of a city fast-food restaurant last week that left three men seriously injured.

Captain Emanuel Chambliss identified the suspect as Malik Tavon Barnes and added he was arrested without incident.

Barnes was wanted in connection with an early-morning shooting outside Taco Bell in the 3200 block of South Crater Road. When officers arrived, they found the three men shot in the parking lot.

The restaurant was closed at the time of the shooting.
