Jackson General Hospital is recognizing medical laboratory professionals as part of Medical Laboratory Professionals Week April 21-17.

Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (MLPW) provides the profession with a unique opportunity to increase public understanding of and appreciation for clinical laboratory personnel.

MLPW, which takes place the last full week in April each year, is coordinated by a collaborative committee with representatives from 17 national clinical laboratory organizations, including ASCLS. Now in its 44th year, it is important to reflect on the important history of MLPW.

Jackson General Hospital would like to recognize our Laboratory Professionals who give countless hours of hard work & dedication to the patients of Jackson County: Joshua Chapman, Melissa Chapman, Amy Conrad, Kelsie Davis, Russell Davis, Kathryn Dennis, Lindsay Fordyce, Kayla Harris, Alexis Hickel, Julia Hoffman, Janelle Holliday, Melissa Holsinger, Kristen Kerns, Rhea Little, Amanda Morgan, Christina Rose, Tequella Stanley, Dominic Vespucci, Rebecca Westfall, Cassie Wicker, & Beverly Smith, Laboratory Manager.

Medical Laboratory Professionals Week originated in 1975 as National Medical Laboratory Week under the auspices of the American Society for Medical Technology, now called the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS). For more information, go to nsh.org.
