NEW CREEK - A head-on collision on Route 50 near the intersection with Andalu Lane Tuesday sent four patients to area hospitals, including two who were flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

NEW CREEK - A head-on collision on Route 50  near the intersection with Andalu Lane Tuesday sent four patients to area hospitals, including two who were flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
According to the New Creek Volunteer Fire Department, when they arrived on the scene of the 2:58 p.m.. they found two vehicles head on, with major damage and one patient entrapped. Additional fire and EMS resources were requested to the scene.
Four patients in total were transported, two via Maryland State Police Trooper 5 and Aircare 4 to Ruby Memorial, a level 1 trauma center.
Chief 38 had command of the incident.
Units on the scene of the accident included New Creek VFD and Ambulance, Keyser VFD,  Keyser EMS, Burlington VFD, and Valley Medical.  
Fountain VFD held an ambulance crew until another incident occurred, and Tri Towns EMS of Westernport transferred Ambulance 352 to cover New Creek and Keyser.
