The Glow Movement will host its first winter Glow Ball from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the NYA Hall on Sycamore St. in Ravenswood.

Tracy Bird Hall of the Glow Movement said this is a fun dance to share hope for the causes of mental illness, suicide prevention, and addiction recovery.

The cost will be a donation to help fund future events and projects. As with any Glow Movement event, attendees should come adorned with glow sticks and other lights.

“We want to thank the Ravenswood Board of Parks and Recreation for sponsoring us. Dress as you would dream of doing at your ball. Maybe you missed prom and want to dress in your ball gown, or maybe you are a little girl or boy who dreams of being a prince or princess. Maybe you just want be comfy in your street clothes. Truly come as you are,” Hall said.

Refreshments will be served.

“If you don’t dance, come and hang out with us,” Hall said.

Any donations to help with the event would be appreciated, Hall said.

“With the planning of any event there is always a cost. If you know a caterer that would give us a good price please let us know. If you can help by donating a service or money to pay for things contact us,” Hall said.
