Blake Bennett launched a three-run double and Luke Miller went 3-for-3 with four RBIs to lead the host Red Devils to a come-from-behind 12-9 win over Wahama in the Class A Region 4, Section 1 Tournament Tuesday at Wright Field.

Things look bleak when the White Falcons parlayed some seeing eye hits into a 3-0 lead in the second inning, and answered a two-run Ravenswood at-bat in the bottom half with three more runs in the third.

Despite the Devils clawing back to 6-4 in the fourth, the Falcons plated three runs in the fifth to lead 9-4.

That’s when Ravenswood heated up, sending 10 batters to the plate in the bottom of the fifth and scoring six runs to take a 10-9 lead. Bennett delivered the big blow of the rally crashing a two-strike pitch to the center field fence with the bases loaded. His three-run double flipped the script of the game.

The Devils tacked on two more runs in the sixth for eight unanswered, while the Falcons were held scoreless after the fifth frame.

Chase Swain got the pitching win in relief of starter Lakin Tucker. Tucker tossed three innings with three strikeouts, two walks and seven hits. Wahama’s six runs over the three innings included just three earned. Swain came on to pitch the final four innings, fanning six, walking three and scattering four hits with three runs (two earned). Tucker and Swain each pitcher their way out of bases loaded jams, as Wahama left 10 base runners stranded in the game.

Daltron Kearns took the pitching loss for Wahama, tossing 4.2 innings with three strikeouts, four walks, five hits and 10 runs allowed. Tanner Smith threw one inning, walking one and surrendering one hit and two runs. David Hendrick pitched 0.1 inning with a walk.

Miller went 3-for-3 at the dish for the Devils with four RBIs and a run scored. Bennett went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored. Chase Swain went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Andrew Anglin added a double and three runs scored; and Jake Greene and Lakin Tucker, one single each. Ciah Kennedy scored three runs; and Ethan Mahan and Stephen Dawson, one each.

Brennan Grate paced the White Falcons with three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. Colton Arrington, Tanner Smith, Dalton Kearns and Cooper Peters added two hits each; and David Hendrick and Tyler Baumgarner, one each.

Ravenswood (20-8) hosted Parkersburg Catholic (8-14) yesterday (Thursday) at Wright Field in a showdown of sectional unbeatens in the double-elimination tournament. The Crusaders pounded Williamstown (23-6-1), 13-2, Tuesday on the Yellow Jackets’ home diamond.
