SILVERTON – An early morning two-vehicle crash on Route 33 near Silverton Tuesday claimed the life of a 76-year old Ravenswood woman—the driver of one of the vehicles involved.
Elcie M. Pinder, 76, was pronounced dead at the scene, after her 2000 Buick LeSabre was struck by a westbound 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by Brian S. Hess, 21, of Sandyville at around 7:54 a.m.
According to the report of Deputy J.F. Williams of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, who investigated with the assistance of Deputy Gary Baldwin, Pinder pulled across the intersection of Route 33 toward Wilding Road into the path of Hess as he was traveling west on Route 33 toward Ravenswood. The pickup collided with the car at a right angle on the passenger’s side.
After the collision, Pinder’s car continued across the intersection and slammed into a fence in front of the guardrail off the road shoulder. Hess’s truck went out of control and rolled over, following the collision.
Hess was also injured in the crash.
