COTTAGEVILLE - On Friday (July 29), the marathon 46 thannual Market Livestock Sale was held in the Show Arena, showcasing one of the finest market livestock program in the nation. County businessmen and women, groups, and individuals turned out in force to make the 2016 sale another huge success—topping out at a total $555,059.65, down just a bit from the 2015 record sale of over $560,000 (the fourth straight total sale increase). The 2014 sale total was$505,887.65.

Brian Prim, candidate for WV Senate, and Harrison Racking Horses combined to purchase Cayden Keeler’s Grand Champion Market Hog for a whopping $50 per pound and a sale total of $13,700. The total 2016 market hog sale was $243,191.85.

Collision Specialists, Dr. Todd Shockey, DVM and Parkersburg Veterinary Hospital combined to purchase Nathan Hall’s 1,157-pound Grand Champion Market Steer for $11 per pound and a total sale price of $12,727. The total 2016 market steer sale was $138,280.95.

United Producers Livestock, Feed Stop, Hall’s Simmental, Jack Vaughan Trucking and Rawson Enterprises combined to purchase Carter Hall’s 742-pound Grand Champion Replacement Heifer for $11 per pound and a sale total of $8,162.

Bruce Allen Pipeline purchased Brooke Whited’s Grand Champion Market Rabbits for $5,500.

Brian Prim and Prim Law Firm purchased Brandi Snyder’s 124-pound Grand Champion Market Lamb for $31 per pound and a sale total of $3,844.

Bruce Allen Pipeline purchased Savanna Hatfield’s 91-pound Grand Champion Market Goat for $50 per pound and a sale total of $4,550.

Terra Services purchased Hannah Rhodes’s 1,350-pound Reserve Champion Market Steer for $8 per pound and a sale total of $10,800.

Brim Prim and Prim Law Firm purchased Jacob Kay’s 548-pound Reserve Champion Replacement Heifer for $7 per pound and a sale total of $3,836.

Bruce Allen Pipeline purchased Baylee Keeler’s 275-pound Reserve Champion Market Hog  for $45 per pound and a sale total of $12,375, and donated the hog to the Exhibit Hall.

Bunner Resources and CHARTS DOT Compliance purchased Patrick Click’s 119-pound Reserve Champion Market Lamb for $28 per pound and a sale total of $3,332.

McDonald’s of Ripley, Fairplain and Spencer purchased Elizabeth Williams’s Reserve Champion Market Rabbits for $3,100.

Brian Prim and Prim Law Firm purchased Tanner Ross’s 84-pound Reserve Champion Market Goat  for $20.50 per pound and a sale total of $1,722.

The total 2016 replacement heifer sale was $67,695.45. The total 2016 market goat sale was $27,897. The total 2016 market lamb sale was $64,309.40. The total 2016 market rabbits sale was $13,685.
