RAVENSWOOD - A Michigan man faces drug charges following a traffic stop by Ravenswood Police officers on the Route 2 four-lane last Friday.
Officers made a traffic stop on a Chevy Cruze for improper registration, and smelled what they believed was the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver, Antwone D. Brown, 33, of Battle Creek, MI, was asked to exit for a vehicle search.
Officers found a red and black backpack in the trunk. Inside were three vacuum sealed bags containing what was believed to be marijuana. The bags contained a total of approximately one pound, 5.6 ounces of suspected marijuana.
Brown was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. His vehicle was towed and impounded. He was arraigned and bond was set at $85,000. Brown remains lodged in the South Central Regional Jail in lieu of bond.
