Clarinda Jo Harpold, 79, of Ripley passed away October 22, 2015 at Camden Clark Hospital surrounded by her family following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur E. Morgan and Catherine F. Burkell.

Clara Jo was a homemaker and a business owner in the Ripley area for several years. In more recent years she spent much of her time being a caretaker and helping her friends’ and neighbors who dearly loved her.

She enjoyed collecting dolls, hummingbird art, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Mud Run Church of Christ.

Surviving are stepmother Dorothy Ramsey of Charleston; sisters Mary Belle Rhodes of Virginia Becach, VA, Linda Wallace of Ripley, Anna May McCormick and husband Rick of St. Albans; brother Ernie Morgan and wife Debbie of Charleston; children Harry Harpold and wife Debbie of Katy, TX, Dixie Hall and husband Geary of Spencer, Jerry Harpold and wife Marichu of Ripley, and Dianna Grueser and husband Dave of Barboursville; grandchildren Marylyn Dawn Kinney and husband Marcus, Justin Harpold and wife Kately, Jason and Heather Hall, Meliza Michell Lanier and husband Corey, Hannah Nicole Harpold, Bradley and Kailey Grueser; great-grandchildren Cameron, Tyler, and Lindsey Lancaster, Isaiah, Brennan and Elijah Kinney, Krystian Hall, Conner and Cooper Lanier; and special family friends Patsy and Chris Mace.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edwin “Speedy” Harpold, son Larry, and granddaughter Erica

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be at the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Following the committal service at the cemetery there will be a meal at the Parsons-Vail Family Center located inside the funeral home.  Friends may call on the family from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
