RAVENSWOOD - A nightmare third inning spelled defeat for the Red Devils Friday at home, as visiting Poca scored 10 runs for a 11-1, five-inning win.

Ravenswood led 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning, when Chase Swain drew a walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a throwing error off P.J. Click’s grounder to shortstop.

Poca tied the game with a single run in the top of the second.

The top of the third lasted an eternity as starter and loser Zack Martin hit three batters, reliever Nathan Curtis walked in three runs with no put-outs and Jon Watkins also has difficulty. Ten Dot runs scored for a 11-1, five-inning, mercy rule-abbreviated game.

Brett Watts got the pitching win for Poca, fanning six, walking three, hitting one batter and allowing just two hits over five innings.

Zach Miller took the pitching loss, going two innings with no strikeouts, two walks and three hit batsmen.

Nathan Curtis walked three without retiring a batter.

Jon Watkins came on to toss the final three innings, fanning three, walking one and allowing three hits.

At the plate, Austin Henrich belted a triple with two RBIs. Matt Chandler and Taylor Barnett each went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs; and Ricci Savilla also went 2-for-2.

For Ravenswood, Stephen Dawson had a double.
