EASTWOOD - Ravenswood’s Red Devilettes dropped games to rival Ritchie County (10-2) and at St. Marys (9-2) last week to slip to 7-4 on the season.
Friday at Eastwood, the Devilettes grabbed a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a two-run homer by Bayli Manns, but failed to score again in a 10-2 loss to the Ritchie County Rebels. The Rebs grabbed back the lead with three runs in the top of the third inning, and added a pair in the fifth and three more in the sixth.
Kenna DeLancey got the pitching win for Ritchie, fanning nine, walking one and allowing five hits.
Savana Casto took the pitching loss for Ravenswood, going four innings with seven strikeouts, four walks and six hits allowed. Payton Dale come on to toss the final two innings, fanning three, walking one and allowing three hits.
At the plate, Delancey aided her own cause with a homer and double in a 3-for-3 performance with three RBIs.Rachel Haddox added a double and K. Seese, a double and RBI. Vanessa Tallman, Becca Sullivan, M Ray (RBI) and Leah Kuhn added one hit each.
For the Devilettes, Bayli Manns led the way with a two-run homer. Ashley Johnson went 2-for-2, and Heather Randolph and Erica Greene added one hit each. Ravenswood committed three fielding errors in the game.
At St. Marys last Wednesday, walks and errors were the difference in a 9-2 Devilette loss.
Ravenswood and the Blue Devils each collected just four hits, but the Devilettes committed five errors in the game to just one for St. Marys.
The Devilettes led 1-0 into the third inning, before the Blue Devils erupted for four runs in the bottom of the third to grab a 4-1 lead. Ravenswood cut the deficit to 4-2 with a single run in the top of the fourth, but St. Marys tacked on a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the bottom of the sixth.
Mykaela Handshumaker got the pitching win for the Blue Devils, fanning four, walking three and scattering four hits.
Savana Casto took the loss for Ravenswood, fanning six, walking nine and scattering four hits over 5 1/3 innnings. Paytonb Dale came on to toss 2/3 inning with one strikeout and one walk.
For the Blue Devils, Rachel Payton socked an RBI double; and Kendra Beckner (three runs scored), Rachel Perry and Handshumaker (RBI) had one single each. D. Price had an RBI.
For Ravenswood, Savana Casto blasted a solo homer; Ashley Johnson, two singles; and Bayli Manns, a single. Sidney Smith had an RBI.
