RIPLEY -  Brittany Hancock got a taste of Fourth of July royalty in 2009 when she was crowned Teen Miss Firecracker.
Now 18 and a recent Ripley High School graduate, Brittany, the daughter of Robbie and Becky Hancock of Cottageville, is royal again--this time as the queen of Ripley’s storied Fouth of Juyly celebration, Miss Ripley Fourth of July 2014.
Brittany was crowned Saturday night on the Ripley High School Auditorium stage to culminate a night of crownings.
Exuding personality, the new queen told emcee Dee Rhodes that her favorite past was the 1980s because she’s a fan of big hair.

Winning the coveted crown is a dream come true that stretched back to age six for Brittany.

“I was at the parade and the queen came by,” she recalls. “I told my mom I want to be her someday.”

That dream came true for Brittany Hancock Saturday night. She will now reign over the country’s largest small town Independence Day celebration next Friday in the County Seat.
