Carolyn Marie Mitchell, 60, of Sandyville, WV, passed away May 14, 2014, in Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV.

She was born February 7, 1954, in Rockcastle, WV, a daughter of Odell Fay (McCullum) Goodwin Sayre of Ripley, and the late Kenneth Goodwin.  Her son, Greg Conley, grandson, Thomas Conley, and stepfather, Jimmie “Butch” Sayre, also preceded her in death.

She was a licensed practical nurse, and had worked for Cedar Ridge Nursing Home, Eldercare of Ripley, and Ravenswood Village.  She was formerly employed at Wal-Mart and Fruth Pharmacy.  She attended Mercy Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, other survivors include her husband of 26 years, William E. Mitchell; sons, Billy Conley and Tommy Conley, both of Ravenswood; brothers, Ronald Richard (Jamie) Goodwin of Cottageville, Kevin Lee (Joann) Goodwin of Cottageville, and Bradley (Tracy) Goodwin of Evans; sister, Debbie (James) Conley of Sandyville, stepbrother, Charles Ray Spencer in Ohio, and six grandchildren.

Service will be 8 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2014, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, WV, with Pastor Bradley Goodwin officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until time of service.  Committal service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, in Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.
