RIPLEY - Red Devil running back Rhys Jelich served as a human battering ram and ran for 204 yards and two touchdowns as coach Mick Price's Ravenswood football team dismissed Ripley, 43-13 on Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

 Not only did the Red Devils snatch the coveted “Hatchet” that serves as a keepsake for the winner of the cross county rivalry game, but the stamped their ticket to the Class AA playoffs with the victory over Class AAA Ripley.

 Ravenswood Defensive Coordinator Jason Jackson’s defense held Ripley’s ground game to just 125 total yards as the Red Devils outgained the Vikings in yardage, 394 to 264.

 Ravenswood led 19-7 at the half. Ripley’s only second half score was a 95 yard kickoff return for a score by Kade Harrison in the fourth period.
