Ronald “Jigger” Kimes, Sr., 59, of Murraysville passed away March 31, 2010, at his home.


Ronald “Jigger” Kimes, Sr., 59, of Murraysville passed away March 31, 2010, at his home.

 

He was born January 31, 1951, in Jackson County, a son of Ira and Eliza Salser Kimes. 

He loved his family, loved riding his Goldwing, Ford Trucks, and spending time with friends and family. He worked as a truck driver.

He is survived by his wife Gerry Kimes of Murraysville; son Ronald Kimes, Jr., and his wife Diana of Parkersburg; daughter JoAnna Cox and her husband Joe of Parkersburg; step-children Robert Buckland of Florida, Brandi Buckland of Ravenswood, and Tonya Parsons and her husband Bryan of Ontario, Canada; grandchildren Jace, Shianna, Katie Lynn, William, and unborn granddaughter Arabella Nicole; sisters Shirley Miller and husband Mike of Little Hocking, OH, Sheila Sams and husband Fred of Murraysville, and Janet Boggs and husband Bill of Murraysville; brother Ira Kimes and wife Nancy of Parkersburg; brothers and sister-in-law John Kersey of Ripley, Rebecca Middleton of Ravenswood, Randal Kersey and wife Terrie of Ravenswood, and Kenneth Kersey and wife Diana of Walker; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Irene Salser and granddaughter Samantha Buckland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roush Funeral Home, P.O. Box 933, Ravenswood, WV 26164, to help family with funeral expenses.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Reverend Fred Basnett. Burial will follow at the Ravenswood Cemetery. 

Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Friday, April 2, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
