RIPLEY – With last week’s announcement that Herbert Hoover High School would be permanently closed due to damage from the June 23 flood, the entire Hoover community was forced to endure yet another loss.  The Huskies' athletic training program, not unlike the school itself, lost everything in the flood.

RIPLEY –  Viking senior Christopher Jordan added yet another honor to an already storied high school baseball career on Wednesday, earning a USA Today First Team All-USA West Virginia selection.

It is a prestigious honor. An honor which for the longest time only went to one individual. These days, two winners are recognized each year. It’s the honor of all honors for athletes at Ripley High School.

RIPLEY – A scholarship named in honor of a Ripley High football coaching legend went to the grandson of the school’s most notable football icon during the Class of 2016’s Formal Awards Ceremony in May.
