After falling just short to Wheeling Park over the past weekend, Ripley boys’ basketball team quickly rebounded on the road again with stellar 70-53 victory over the Nitro Wildcats on Tuesday night.

As they have all year, Coach Harmon’s squad jump-started the game with a blitzkrieg of buckets to out-man Nitro 22-6 after the first quarter. The Vikings shot an effective 50% from the floor, while scoring almost half their points from beyond the arc with 30. At the half the Vikings continued their dominance by leading the Wildcats 45-22.

Noah Fischer again led the charge for Ripley with another double-double effort in 23 points, 11 rebounds and a game high 3 steals. After logging a full game, Chase Fischer recorded 16 points on eight boards with a game high seven assists. Seth Parsons added his eleven with five assists and two steals to go with Kyle Harpold’s ten point, six rebound production.

Sophomore Derek Mullins contributed six points with three rebounds and three assists as Preston Whitney and Nick Barnette added a bucket each.

Ripley won the rebound battle (32-28) while doubling Nitro’s assists 18-9 and edging out the wildcats in turnovers 13-12.

The Vikings’ (4-2) next game is slated for tonight as they host South Charleston (3-2) for their sixth MSAC matchup of the season. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
