Seven soccer Vikes earn All-MSAC, Ross, Pierson, Casto make All-State

Seven Ripley High soccer players were honored to the All-MSAC team following the 2009 season. Three in Ben Ross, Devin Pierson, and Jesse Casto were selected to the Class AAA All-State squad.

Ripley, W.Va. -

Seven Ripley High soccer players were honored to the All-MSAC boy’s and girls soccer teams following the 2009 season.

For the boy’s Ben Ross received the highest honor for a first-team selection, while his teammate Devin Pierson was recognized as a second-team member. Jesse Casto, Brandon Foresha, and Troy King all earned All-MSAC honorable mentions.

Jim Dagostine of Hurricane was awared Coach of the Year, while Zack Claudio from George Washington was the MSAC Player of the Year.

Pierson and Ross were also honored as second-team AAA All-State selection, and teammate Jesse Casto was a AAA All-State Honorable Mention. Pierson was  invited to participate in this years North-South All-Star game this Sunday, November 22 at East-West Stadium in Fairmont, WV. The Class AAA match is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m.

For the Lady Vikes, two players in Carly Caldon and Alex West received All-MSAC honorable mentions. Shelly Young of Hurricane was Coach of the Year.  Erin Clark of South Charleston and Skye Smith of Hurricane were co-MSAC Players of the Year.
