Blue Devils rout PG behind 4 passing TDs from Daniel Grier

HOPEWELL - Quarterback Daniel Grier and the Blue Devils defense dominated to lead Hopewell Football to a 42-0 rout of rival Prince George.

The Blue Devils remain unbeaten at 6-0 while the Royals slip to 3-4.

Grier completed 10 of 21 passes for 141 yards and four touchdowns and added 44 yards on five rushes.

Grier connected with receiver Sean Allen twice on scores of 48 and 14 yards to put the Blue Devils up 14-0. Grier also threw a 26-yard TD to Kadarius Singleton, and Trey Henderson opened the second half on a kickoff that he returned 75 yards to the house to make it 28-0.

Grier fired up his arm again to deliver a 25-yard passing TD to Damonye Taylor - Grier's fourth of the day - and Kaiveon Cox found the end zone for a rushing TD.

Hopewell's Preston Haden went six-for-six on PAT kicks.

Defenders Keyon Williams and Travonte Jones - the previous two Progress-Index FOOTBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK - delivered strong defensive stands for Hopewell once again versus the Royals.

Williams and Cox each had two sacks, and Keshon Brock added one.

For Prince George, quarterback Sa'Quan Harrison completed nine of 25 passes for 132 yards.
