RIPLEY –  Head coach Chris Stout’s Ripley Lady Viking soccer team got the party started on Thursday night in Death Valley, facing the Ravenswood Lady Red Devils in the first part of the Senior Night soccer doubleheader.

To that end, the Lady Vikings made good use of the energy and atmosphere en route to a 4-0 victory.  Senior Ali Parsons had a night to remember in her final home regular season game in Death Valley, scoring two goals to lead the way.

Parsons opened the scoring at the 37:22 mark, poaching a goal out of a net front scramble after a corner kick to put Ripley up 1-0.

She struck again just mintues later at the 31:57 mark to give Ripley a two goal lead.  After that, senior Megan Scarberry found the back of the net, putting Ripley up 3-0 at the 25:22 mark, which is where the score stood at the half.

With a comfortable lead, the Lady Vikings continued to control possession, which led to freshman Olivia Gandee’s goal in the second half.  That ended up being the final marker on the night, as Ripley came away with a 4-0 win.

The win moved Ripley to 9-4-6, while the Lady Red Devils fell to 6-11-1.

The Lady Vikings open sectional play tonight at home against Parkersburg at 6:00 p.m., while the Lady Red Devils opened sectional play last night at Eastwood against Point Pleasant.
