James E. Elmore, 69, of Ravenswood passed away March 1, 2010, in Camden Clark Hospital after a long illness.

James was a loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Peggy Elmore, parents John and Dollie Elmore, sisters Mary Burdette and Arbutus Pritt; and brothers John and Herbert Elmore.

Left to cherish his memory are daughter Tammy Riffle and her husband Kevin of Ravenswood; sisters Jo Anne Barns of Rock Hill, SC, and Mary Patton of Sissonville; brothers Andy Elmore of Kenna and Winkie Elmore of Walton; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with Pastor Alan Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Harrison Cemetery, Goldtown.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at the funeral home.
