Lloyd Leo Rawson, 70, of Cavin Fork, Murraysville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at his home.
He was born August 23, 1938, in Belleville, a son of Margie Nohe Rawson of Murraysville and the late Lloyd Lewis Rawson.
Leo retired with Gas Transport with 26 years of service, had served in Germany with the U.S. Army, was a member of the Ravenswood/Ripley FFA for 25 years, was a former member of the Pond Creek Volunteer Fire Department and attended the Christian Life Center of Parkersburg.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Ruth Moore Rawson; sons Randy Rawson (Regenia) of Murraysville and Kevin Rawson (Amanda) of Ravenswood; grandchildren Pheobe and Sammy Rawson and Travis, Ethan and Cameron Rawson; step-granddaughter Crissy Raines; brothers Roger Rawson (Karen) of Belleville and Andy Rawson (Pat) of Murraysville; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Leo was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Delton Smith officiating. Burial followed at the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Belleville.
The visitation was held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at the funeral home.
