Don O. McNutt, 54, of Gandeeville died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, after a short illness.
He was born Wednesday, July 7, 1954, at Zanesville, OH, a son of Don R. and Patty L. Ashcraft McNutt of Blue Rock, OH.
Don was the owner of the Single-Arm Farm, Gandeeville. He was a member of the Roane County Farm Bureau, the Burley Tobacco Council and the Board of Directors of the Southern States Co-Operative. He was a graduate of Cal State University, Fresno, with a B.S. in Agricultural Business. Also, he was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a Disabled American Veteran and a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Patricia McNutt of Gandeeville; children Deana Miller of Spencer, Patrick McNutt of Lexington, KY, and Kellen McNutt of Morgantown; granddaughters Alaina and Brooke Miller; brothers Reed McNutt of Tryon, NC, Patrick McNutt of Watertown, NY, and Michael McNutt of New Concord, OH.
He was preceded in death by sister Jane Koehler.
A funeral service was conducted Saturday, June 27, at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites, followed in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.
Friends called Friday, June 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
