Daniel A. Thomas, 78, of Millwood passed away March 3, 2010, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley. 

He was born July 28, 1931, in Charleston, a son of the late John D. Thomas and Rachel Hall Thomas. 

He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from the Plate Department at Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood.  He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Ravenswood. He was a football and basketball fan.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Hall Thomas of Millwood; step-sons Roger Nichols and Everett Nichols, both of Spencer; step-daughter Shelia Hill of Reedy; brother Calvin Thomas of Ripley; sisters June White of Charleston, Juanita Canterbury of Belle, and Virginia Ellars of Charleston; eight step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Harwood Thomas and step-son Curtis Nichols.

Services will be held Saturday, March 6, at 1:00 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Pastor Richard S. Parsons, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville.

Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the  time of service.
