Jewell Willard “Bus” White, 77, of Advent, formerly of Tariff, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Eldercare of West Virginia in Ripley.

He was born Saturday, August 1, 1931, at Tariff, a son of the late John W. and Alice Keen White. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vada Keaton White, one son, one daughter, and several brothers and sisters.

Bus was a retired farmer and co-owner of White and Keaton Logging.  He was a 50-plus year member of the Linden Lodge No. 83, A.F. & A.M., Linden, and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include three daughters, one brother, one sister, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Friday, July 3, at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Daniel R. “Danny” Whited officiating. 

Burial with Masonic graveside rites followed in the Tariff Cemetery, Tariff.

Friends called Friday, June 3, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
