Liberty -

Gracie Odell Bowling Cochran, 92, of Liberty was lifted into our dear Savior’s hands Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the home of her daughter and longtime caregiver, Lorena Boggess. She passed gently, with her family around her. Friends and family joined hands and were led in prayer by her son-in-law, the Rev. Berto Harrison.

Grace was saved and baptized with her late husband, Stanley. She was a very hard-working country lady who loved and fed family and neighbors. Just prior to her passing, she received her final blessing. Her youngest son, Donald Ray Bowling and his wife, Nancy, gave their hearts to the Lord.

She was born May 22, 1917, and was a daughter of the late Lou Etta Bowling. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include four children, daughters Lorena Boggess of Given, Betty Harrison and husband Berto of Red House, and sons James Braddock Bowling and wife Georgia of Liberty and Donald Ray Bowling and wife Nancy of Crossville, TN; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 3, in Emma Chapel Cemetery, Liberty, with the Rev. Billy Casto officiating. There was a private family viewing prior to the graveside service.

Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, is serving the family.
