Edward Dwight Knopp, 77, of Ripley, WV, passed away September 30, 2018 in Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, WV.
He was born July 2, 1941, in Gay, WV, a son of the late Okey J. and Edna Bernice (Waybright) Knopp. His sisters Edra Eva Knopp, Edna Jean Knopp and Elsa Carol Rhodes also preceded him in death.
He was a United States Army and Navy veteran with 11 ½ years of service. He was a retired well tender for Carl Smith, Chem Gas and North Coast Energy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was a Christian and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his sons, Scott Southall of Cottageville and Nathaniel E. Knopp of Richmond, VA; daughters, Cathryn E. (Knopp) Green of Gay, WV and Stephanie Southall of Ripley; brother, Paul (Doreen) Knopp of Gay, WV; sisters, Kathleen (Jim) Corbitt of Racine, OH and Paulette (Glen) Cole of South Charleston, OH; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his former spouse and caregiver Gladys Knopp.
Service will be Friday ~ 11a.m., October 5, 2018 in the Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with Pastor Jim Corbitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Gay, WV. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
