Harold K. “Shorty” Shamblin, 69 of Kenna, passed away June 1, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House following a long illness.

He was born May 4, 1949 in Charleston, a son of the late Olaf and Jewell Hamon Shamblin. He was a graduate of Ripley High School and was a Carpenter by trade. Harold was a Christian by Faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Burgess-Shaffer) Shamblin, step-son Ricky Shaffer; brothers Gary, Leroy, Greg and Kenvil Shamblin and sister Shirley Comer.

He is survived by step sons, Michael Shaffer and his wife Renee of Charleston and Gary Shaffer and his wife Patti of Kenna; brothers Luther Shamblin and his wife Frances of Sissonville and Jack Shamblin and his wife Bernice of Sissonville; sisters Carolyn Ray and husband Paul of Romance and Virginia Dillard of Liberty. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Robert Legg officiating. Burial will be in the Mangus Cemetery, Middle Fork, Kenna. Friends may call on the family from 11 am until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
