Violet Wheeler King, 97, passed away on May 3, 2018, in Akron, Ohio.

She was born Aug. 23, 1920, in Leon, W.Va., to Mary and Cicero Wheeler. She grew up in Evans, where she met and married Wilmer King. They moved to Ohio, where they raised two daughters and spent the remainder of their married life. Violet had been a homemaker until her husband’s death, after which she held various jobs including hotel management and real estate sales. She found the most joy in life with her family. She was always interested in and proud of everything her children and grandchildren were doing.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Rice; grandsons David Bussey and Michael Kiser; and great-granddaughter, Amanda Malcomb.

She is survived by daughter Carolyn Cox of Akron, Ohio; granddaughters Suzi Davis of Springfield, Ohio; Cindi Malcomb (Mark) of Evans; grandsons Patrick Bussey (Natalie) of Akron, Vince Bussey of Akron, and Matt Rice of Evans; several great- and great-great-grandchildren. A private family memorial will be held later this month.
