Billie Sharon Bosley, 82, of Ripley, WV, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2018 to be with Jesus and her beloved family in Heaven. She was born in Baytown, TX on April 21, 1936 on the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinta (She was very proud of this, by the way).
She had a smile that was contagious and a heart that loved many. She never met a stranger and was a friend to all. As her children grew up, she was active in her community, founding the Women's Auxiliary for the Boy Scouts in Ravenswood, serving as Girl Scout leader for a decade, was a member of the PTA, and volunteered for countless fundraisers for the scouts and for our schools. In addition, she served as partner with her husband at Bosley Drywall, Inc. for fifty years.
This sweet lady loved all of nature, especially the birds and the wildflowers. She loved to garden with her husband, Jessie, and preserve their homegrown vegetables and fruits, and she passed her love and knowledge of these things to her children and grandchildren.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Olin A. and Helen M. Wellborn, and her baby brother, Olin A. "Bubby" Wellborn. Surviving are her husband, Jessie M. Bosley of Ripley, WV, son Larry (Ruth) of Cincinnati, OH and daughter, Connie (Fred) Detillion of Piketon, OH. Also surviving are five beautiful granddaughters, Billie (Rob) Workman of Ripley, WV; Anna Perdew and Shannon (Matt) Haven of Piketon, OH; Maren (Adam) Baxter of Estes Park, CO; Jourdan (Reid) Rosemond of Durham, North Carolina; and Shayna Detillion of Piketon, OH; one grandson, Chris Detillion of Piketon, OH. Ten precious great grandchildren also survive: Alex, Seth, Levi, Xander, Zyler, Lydia, Logan, Mitchell, Jessa and Matrix, in age order.
She is also survived by six loving siblings, sisters Patsy Dunn of Cloutierville, LA; Joy (John) Stansberry of Hammond, LA; Susan (Bill) of Fayetteville, AR and brothers Kelly (Robyne) of Escondido, CA and Michael (Norma) Wellborn of Fulton, KY, as well as countless nieces and nephews who knew her love.
Many thanks to her many doctors, nurses and caregivers who devoted themselves to her care. Much love to her dearest and best friend, Carolyn Tippens, as well as to Brian Pratt and Chasity Huffman Reynolds, who always took special care of her and made her feel special. May God richly bless you all.
Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, WV has been entrusted with her arrangements. Visitation will take place there on Saturday, May 12 from 11-1 pm, with her service there directly after and interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Cottageville. If it is your wish to honor her in this way, donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.
