Kenneth Craig Hutchinson, 70, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at his home in Chesapeake, VA, surrounded by his loving family, following a long illness.

Mr. Hutchinson was a very well respected and loved principal for over 30 years. His devotion to the field of education began in the classroom where he impacted the lives of many young people and fellow educators alike and spanned the decades where he served as a principal and state president for the National Association of Elementary School Principals. He loved what he did, and it showed. In addition to this, he and his wife operated a commercial chicken layer operation for Purdue Farms as-well-as a 210-acre working farm.

Mr. Hutchinson was born January 11, 1948, in Charleston, West Virginia, to the late Kenneth and Wilma Hutchinson. He spent his life devoted to this family; he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Mr. Hutchinson is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon; his daughter, Michelle (Ed) Waters; and his son, K.C. (Ashley) Hutchinson; his grandchildren, Jeremy and Jessica Waters, Daisy and Kenner Hutchinson, Kylie Arbogast, Damien Mullenax, and Destiny Harper; great-grandchildren, Levi Waters, Noah Dozier, and Alexander Hinson, sisters, Stephanie (Joe) Day and Denise (Rodney) Starcher, brothers, Scott (Ruthie) Hill and Mike (Lisa) Hill.

Special thanks to Comfort Care Hospice, Dr. R. Dhawan, and family and friends who have helped through this process.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 12-2pm at Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA.
