Vanese Renae Cedar, 55, of Ravenswood, WV, went to be with the Lord, Friday, December 1, 2017, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born January 27, 1962, in Ripley, WV, the daughter of the late Lee and Dessell Leila (Poling) Brunty.
Vanese was graduate of Ripley High School and then received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from WVU-P. She was a home licensing specialist for the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. She had been a foster mother for 31 years and she enjoyed antiques, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. Vanese attended the United in Christ Church, Cottageville, WV.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth W. Cedar; sons, Roman Lee Cedar (Jessica), Kyle William Cedar (Melody), Nathan Allen Cedar all of Ravenswood, and Justin Ray Cedar of Ripley; daughter, Heaven R. Cedar of Ravenswood; grandchildren, Jasmine, Alijah, Benjamin, Briana and Domenic; brother, Verdis Brunty and sisters, Vanessa Brunty, Valenda Ranson and Valare Rhodes all of Ripley.
Service was 2 p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2017, at the Independent Fellowship Church, Ravenswood, WV, with Pastor Allen Stewart and Pastor Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial followed in the Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the church. Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, is providing arrangements.
