Delmer Cleo DeWees, 95 of Ripley, formerly of Kenna, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Lakin Hospital and Nursing Facility, West Columbia, WV, following a long illness.
He was born February 15, 1922 at Kenna, a son of the late Willie and Dovie Redman DeWees. He was the kind of person that could do almost anything. He worked with the West Virginia Department of Heath and Human Services and enjoyed farming. He was a member of the Hickory Grove Church.
Delmer was the last surviving sibling of 14 in his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine Parsons DeWees; his son Rondis DeWees of Ripley; grandsons Nathan DeWees and his wife Kristin of Evans and Chandler DeWees of Ravenswood. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a stillborn infant granddaughter.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will follow in the Stonelick Cemetery, Kenna. Friends may call one hour (Noon to 1:00 pm) Tuesday at the funeral home.
