David Andrew “Andy” Board, 49 of Barboursville, formerly of Evans passed away suddenly on August 2, 2017 in Kuwait while serving his country in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

  Andy was born on September 19, 1967 at Parkersburg, WV, son of David and Linda Mahan Board. He was a 1985 graduate of Ripley High School. Following high school he joined the United States Air Force and served at Elsworth Airforce Base where he worked in Missile Maintenance. After serving six years in the Airforce he went to work at AK Steel. He also served in the Air National Guard where he was assigned to Puerto Rico, and deployed to Antarctica. In the Air National Guard he performed maintenance on C-130 Aircraft.

  He is survived by his spouse, Lynn Grimm; son Derik Board; daughters Devan Board and Kylie Board; step-son Chris (Brittani) Mobley; step-granddaughter Aria Mobley; parents David and Linda Board; sister Sarah Ruth (Justin Carpenter) Board; Grandmother Loretta Mahan along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Russell and Hiawatha Board and maternal grandfather Charles Mahan.

 Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Major General James A. Hoyer presiding. Burial with Military Honors provided by Wright Paterson Airforce Base Honor Guard will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Millwood. Friends may call on the family from 1 to 2 pm (one hour prior to the service) Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in memory of Andy be made to the Pleasant View Cemetery Fund c/o Tressa Creel,2189 Sugar Run Rd., Millwood, WV 25262.
