Ursula Mae “Sue” (Fitzwater) Lemaster, 63, of Ravenswood, peacefully left this world to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, WV.
Sue was born March 11, 1954 in Dundon, Clay County, WV, a daughter of the late Henry Edsel and Elsie Catherine (Ghee) Fitzwater, Sr. She grew up in Jackson County, where she lived out Wilding Road with her family, and attended Wilding United Methodist Church. Sue graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1972, and later held several diverse jobs in the community. She was a former cook for Jackson County Schools, was certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and worked for some time as a DJ at station C98 in Ripley using the radio name “J.J. Jackson”.
Sue was beloved to her family and friends for her unique sense of humor and her distinct laughter. She loved singing, especially gospel music, with her beautiful Alto voice. Sue was selected as an Alto 2 for the WV All State Choir in 1971, and her passion for gospel music continued throughout her life, as she performed solo and with choirs in churches across WV. She also enjoyed bowling with her league team at Raven Lanes and spending time in the outdoors. Sue, along with her mother, was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include her daughter, Kim (Lemaster) Sheets (Lee) of Ravenswood; son, Chris Lemaster of Ravenswood, Wilding Community; brother, Henry E. Fitzwater, Jr. of Ravenswood, sisters, Sharon Faye Harris (Jim) of Ravenswood, Wilding Community, Patricia “Patsy” Meredith of West Columbia, WV and Henrietta Lemaster (Rick) of Ravenswood, Wilding Community; grandchildren, Brooke Murray (Luke), Jordan Sheets, Aspen Sheets, Jacy Lemaster, Colby Nations, Madison Lemaster, and C.J. Lemaster; great-granddaughter, Harper Murray and several nieces and nephews who loved her.
Service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Ravenswood, WV, with Rev. Don Maxson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood, WV. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
