Kevin Wilson Lee, 57, of Ripley passed away July 3, 2017 following a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease.) He was born February 10, 1960 at Hobbs, New Mexico

   Kevin graduated from Ripley High School in 1978 and was an outstanding athlete for Viking football. He was inducted into the Ripley High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016. He attended Glenville State College and worked in the oil and gas industry for over 25 years. He was a gun enthusiast and completed his career working in sporting goods.

   Kevin was predeceased at the age of 3 ½ by his mother Louise Alberti Lee, and his father, N. Ted Lee in 2005. He is survived by his devoted wife who took excellent care of him through his entire journey, Sonja Barnette Lee of Ripley; the mother who raised him, Ingrid Lee of Ripley; son, Kevin (Kacy) Whyte of North Carolina; daughters, Stacy (Mark) McCollough, Danielle Lee, and Katherine “Kati” Lee of Pennsylvania; Sister Debbie (Doug) McCauley of Evans; brother, Kelly (Rhonda) Lee of Evans; grandchildren Rylan McCollough, Micah McCollough, Jayla Clements, Damian Lee, Dominic Lee, Devin Lee; numerous nephews and nieces and his beloved dogs; Bella, Thumper, Gracie, and Hippy.

   Kevin fought his battle with dignity and grace. He inspired others with his positive outlook and the way he embraced life. He made the decision to donate his body to the WVU Human Gift Registry with the hope of helping conquer this horrible disease and thereby giving someone else a longer and better life.
