Alice Rosalee “Rosie” McGee, 83, of Ravenswood, WV, went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2017, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV, after a brief bout with cancer.
She was born in Dellslow, WV, on October 31, 1933, to the late Glenn and Gertrude Everly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bill McGee; sister, Alda Michaels, Morgantown, WV; and two brothers, Glenn R. Everly, Jr. of Georgia and Gerald Everly of Ohio.
She had many friends, whom she met along her Christian journey. She enjoyed watching Calvin Ray Evans every Sunday morning before church. She loved gospel sings, going to revivals and reading her Bible. She was a charter member of the Ravenswood Free Will Baptist Church. She dearly loved her church family. Her special friends who held a special place in her heart were Phyllis Smith and Ella Mae Skeens. Her church was her favorite place to be.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Everly Small of PA; 3 daughters, Brenda Bunch of Las Vegas, Adriena (Jack) Forrester of Ravenswood, and Teri McGee Irvin (fiancé, Jerry Duff) of Kenna; son, David McGee (fiancée, Bobbie Lucas) of Ravenswood; 6 grandchildren, Joshua (Laura) McGee of TN, Michael Bunch of Las Vegas, Amber Forrester of Ravenswood, Justin (Jessica) Forrester of KY, Stephen (Amanda) Boyce of Columbus, OH, Carla (Rocky) Bowman of Sandyville; 6 great grandchildren, Alexis and Ethan McGee of TN, Charles and Lydia Bowman of Sandyville, Triniti Forrester of KY, and Jamison Boyce of Columbus, OH.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Ravenswood Free Will Baptist Church with Pastors Chris and Allen Skeens officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ravenswood Free Will Baptist Church.
